Takatoku NISHI | Constructor・Phenomenon Creator・Ph.D.
The scenes created by nature, which are constantly changing, are ephemeral, potent, and beautiful. Takatoku shapes spaces of light by reconstructing optical phenomena extracted from these captivating scenes using materials and structures. His work is characterized by expertise in optics, meteorology, and mechanics, incorporating geometric forms and natural forces such as the sun and wind. Additionally, he emphasizes the atmosphere engendered by his creations, interpreting the unique qualities of space as influenced by a sense of atmosphere and prioritizing harmony between the artwork and its surrounding environment. His art serves as a conduit, enabling viewers to experience the majesty of nature more intimately.
